You've been invited to vote in an election. Here's everything you need to know — from opening your voting link to submitting your ballot. It takes under a minute.
Most voters complete their ballot in under a minute.
Your vote is encrypted. No one can see how you voted.
Phone, tablet, or computer. No app to download.
No sign-up, no login, no password to remember.
You'll receive an email (and possibly a text message) from your organization with a link to your ballot. The email comes from ElectionChamp on behalf of your organization and includes the election name, voting deadline, and your secure voting link.
You'll also receive a unique 16-digit voting key. This key is your personal access code — it proves you're an eligible voter and ensures you can only vote once.
What the email looks like
Hi Jordan,
Voting is now open for the Riverside HOA 2025 Board of Directors Election. Please cast your ballot by March 15 at 5:00 PM.
Once you open your ballot, you'll see the election details — candidate names, descriptions, or motion text — along with clear instructions for how to vote. Read through the options, then make your selections by clicking or tapping your choices.
Different elections use different voting methods. Some ask you to pick one candidate. Others may ask you to select multiple, rank your preferences, or vote yes/no on a resolution. The ballot will always tell you exactly what to do.
Select your choices
Before your vote is recorded, you'll see a summary of your selections. Take a moment to make sure everything looks right. If you want to change anything, go back and update your choices — your vote isn't recorded until you click "Submit."
Once you submit, you'll see a confirmation screen with a unique confirmation ID. You'll also receive a confirmation email. Your vote is now securely recorded and encrypted.
You'll see this after submitting
Thank you for participating in the Riverside HOA 2025 Board Election. Your ballot has been securely recorded and encrypted.
You've submitted your ballot. Here's what happens from here.
You'll receive an email confirming your vote was recorded, along with your confirmation ID. This is your receipt — save it for your records.
Your ballot is encrypted the moment you submit it. No one — not the election administrator, not ElectionChamp — can see your individual selections (in anonymous elections).
When the voting window closes, results are calculated automatically. Your organization will share results according to their process — you may receive a notification.
Most issues can be resolved in under a minute. Here are the most common problems voters encounter and how to fix them.
Check your spam, junk, and promotions folders first. The email comes from ElectionChamp on behalf of your organization. If it's not there, contact your election administrator — they can resend your notification or verify your email address is on the voter list.
Your voting key is in the original notification email. Search your inbox for "ElectionChamp" or the election name. If you still can't find it, contact your election administrator — they can resend your voting notification with a new key.
Every election has a deadline. If you're seeing this message, the voting window has ended. Unfortunately, votes cannot be accepted after the deadline. Contact your election administrator if you believe this is an error.
Each voting key can only be used once. If you see this message, your ballot has already been submitted. If you didn't cast this vote yourself, contact your election administrator immediately — this could indicate a security issue.
Try refreshing the page or switching to a different browser (Chrome, Safari, or Firefox all work). Make sure you have an internet connection. If the issue persists, try opening the link on a computer instead.
No. Once you click "Submit My Ballot," your vote is final and encrypted. This is by design — it's the same principle as a sealed ballot box. That's why you're shown a review screen before submitting.
ElectionChamp works in any modern web browser. No app to download. No special software. Just click the link in your email and vote.
Running an election? Send this page to your voters alongside their ballot notification. It answers the most common questions voters have — so they don't have to ask you.
You can also link to this page from your organization's website, include it in your election announcement, or share it in your member newsletter.
Add a "Need help voting?" link in your election email pointing to this page. Reduces support questions by 80%.
Add a "How to Vote" link to your organization's election announcement page or member portal.
Include the link when announcing the election in your member newsletter or group email.
When a voter asks "How do I vote?" — just share this link instead of explaining step by step.
If your election administrator enabled anonymous voting (most do), then yes — your vote is completely anonymous. Your ballot is encrypted, and there is no way for anyone to connect your identity to your selections. The system records that you voted, but not how you voted. Some elections are configured as non-anonymous (open ballot) — the ballot will clearly state this.
No. You don't need an account, a password, or an app. Just click the link in your email, and your unique voting key gives you access to your ballot. That's it.
Your voting key is a unique code assigned only to you. It proves you're an eligible voter and ensures you can only vote once. Think of it like a one-time passcode. When you click the voting link in your email, the key is usually pre-filled — you don't need to type it manually unless you're entering it on the voting page directly.
Yes. ElectionChamp works on any device with a web browser — iPhone, Android, iPad, laptop, desktop. No app to download. Just click the link in your email or text message and you'll go directly to your ballot.
You can change your selections as many times as you like before you submit. Once you click "Submit My Ballot," your vote is final and cannot be changed. Before submitting, you'll see a review screen showing all your selections — take a moment to double-check before confirming.
After submitting, you'll see a confirmation screen with a unique confirmation ID (like "VT-8K3M-X92P"). You'll also receive a confirmation email. If you see this screen and receive this email, your vote has been securely recorded.
Results are calculated automatically when the voting window closes — but when and how they're shared is up to your election administrator. Some organizations share results immediately via email notification. Others announce them at a meeting. If you're curious, ask your organization's election contact.
For questions about the election itself — who's running, what you're voting on, eligibility, deadlines — contact your organization's election administrator directly. For technical issues with the voting platform — the link isn't working, the page won't load, you're seeing an error — email support@electionchamp.com and we'll help.
Set up in under 10 minutes. Free for up to 20 voters. Every feature included — no credit card required.
