View a launched election's setup
The setup locks at launch, so every voter gets the same ballot. You can still see all of it.
To see a launched election's setup, open the election, click More at the top of the page, then View election setup. The Election setup page shows where voting stands, every question with its instructions, choices, photos and bios, the voters, the voting dates, the election's settings, the invitations as voters got them, and what you paid at launch. It's read-only: the setup is locked once an election launches, so every voter gets the same ballot.
Open the setup
- Open the election from My elections.
- Click More at the top of the page, then View election setup. It's there on every tab of a launched election.
- To go back, click Dashboard at the top left.
Any setup link of a launched election, such as an old bookmark to a setup step, opens this page too.
What the page shows
- Where voting stands, under the heading, such as “Voting is open. It closes Tue, Nov 10, 5:00 PM.”, “Voting was closed early.” or “Voting has ended: every key was used.”
- Your election: the same five lines as the Launch step (Ballot, Voters, Voting, Privacy and results, Invitations).
- Ballot: every question as it was set up, with its voting method, its options (such as an Abstain choice or a random order), the voter instructions, and each choice with its photo and bio.
- Settings: the organization, the time zone, the voter list's columns, who could see results while voting was open, whether votes are weighted, and whether ballots are secret.
- Invitations: the email and the text message as voters got them, with a sample key in place of each voter's own.
- Paid at launch: your voters and spare keys, and the amount paid, or Free. If you set spare keys, it shows how many you've used, such as 1 of 5 spare keys used.
Why you can't edit it
The setup is locked once an election launches, so every voter gets the same ballot, the same dates and the same rules. Ballots are secret, and a ballot can't be changed once it's cast.
What you can still do
The What you can still do card says what's left for the election's stage: while voting is open, add voters with spare keys on the Voters tab, send reminders and close voting early; once it has closed, see and share the results and download the audit trail.
- Go to the dashboard opens the election's dashboard.
- Preview ballot opens the ballot as voters see it, in a new tab. Nothing is counted.
Read more about spare keys, reminders and closing early.
If the setup has a mistake
A typo or a wrong date can't be fixed after launch. If the election can't go ahead as it was set up, check your rules first, because closing early can't be undone. Then close it early from the dashboard. In My elections, find it under Past elections, press Make a copy, fix the copy and launch it. Every voter in a copy gets a new key, so tell members which election counts. See My elections.

The Paid at launch panel shows it, such as 1 of 5 spare keys used. On the Voters tab, while voting is open and spare keys are left, the Add a voter button shows how many, such as Add a voter · 4 spare. Otherwise the tab says how many were used.
No. To end voting sooner, click More at the top of the dashboard, then Close voting early. Voting also closes as soon as every key has been used.
