Table comparing ElectionChamp and Simply Voting election prices at 10, 100, 500, and 1,000 voters

Short answer: Simply Voting is free for elections with 10 or fewer eligible voters. Above that, its pricing page shows no price list: you enter your voter count into an online calculator to get a quote. Telephone voting, online nominations, weighted votes, and voter segmentation cost extra. Annual plans save 15% or more. Software directories list a starting price of $200 for the first 250 voters, which Simply Voting’s own page does not confirm.

This guide explains how Simply Voting prices an election, what the add-ons are, where the platform is strong, and how its cost compares with ElectionChamp at common voter counts. ElectionChamp is our product, so every Simply Voting fact below is dated and linked to its source.

Simply Voting Pricing in 2026: How It Works

Simply Voting is a Montreal company that has run online elections since 2003, according to its homepage. Its pricing page, checked October 3, 2026, sets out four rules.

  • Free up to 10 voters. Elections with 10 or fewer eligible voters cost nothing, so you can try the system first.
  • Price follows eligible voters. The fee depends on how many people are on your voter list, and larger elections get a better rate per voter.
  • Calculator only. The page shows a calculator rather than a published price table. There are no example prices in the page text.
  • Premium features cost extra. The pricing FAQ names telephone voting, online nominations, weighted vote support, and segmentation of voters as premium features with additional costs.

Payment happens before voting opens. The FAQ says you pay online by credit card in the Election Manager, or contact support at least one business day before voting begins to set up invoice billing. The page does not state a currency, so confirm whether your quote is in Canadian or US dollars.

Simply Voting sells two service levels. Self-administered elections are run by you in the Election Manager, with email and phone support included. Managed elections add a dedicated project manager and are priced by custom quote.

What Simply Voting Costs at 100, 500, and 1,000 Voters

We tried to capture example prices from the calculator for 100, 500, and 1,000 voters. The pricing page does not expose those figures in its content, so the honest answer for each size is a calculator quote. Run the calculator with your exact voter count before you budget.

Third-party software directories do publish a starting figure. As of October 2026, TrustRadius lists a Single Election plan “starting at $200 for the first 250 electors.” Its Annual Plan is listed “starting at $334 for the first 250 electors,” with increments per eligible voter above that. Capterra also lists a $200 starting price for a self-administered election. Neither figure appears on Simply Voting’s own page, so treat them as a rough guide and confirm with a live quote.

Simply Voting Premium Features and Add-Ons

The base price covers standard online voting. Four features are listed as premium with additional costs:

  • Telephone voting: voters dial in and vote with their phone keypad, with no internet needed.
  • Online nominations: members nominate candidates through the platform before the vote.
  • Weighted vote support: some voters carry more than one vote, common for property owners, delegates, or shareholders.
  • Segmentation of voters: different voter groups see different ballots or questions.

The pricing page also lists premium services beyond software. These include managed events, postal mailings, paper ballot printing and mailing, translations, voice recordings, and live tabulation. Each is quoted separately.

Plan for this when you compare quotes. A homeowners association that weights votes by unit, or a union that wants phone voting for members without reliable internet, will pay more than the base calculator figure. Ask for a quote that lists every add-on as its own line.

Simply Voting Annual Plans and Managed Elections

Organizations that vote several times a year can buy an annual plan. The pricing FAQ says you “save 15% or more on multiple elections by purchasing an annual plan.” The page does not say how many elections an annual plan covers, so ask before you commit.

An annual plan makes the most sense when your voter count is stable and you run three or more votes a year, such as a board election plus bylaw and budget votes. If you vote once a year, a single election purchase is simpler.

Managed elections suit large or high-stakes votes. Simply Voting assigns a project manager, sends scheduled reports, and can add telephone voting, postal mailings, and mail-in paper ballots. Expect a custom quote rather than a checkout price.

Simply Voting Review: Strengths Worth Paying For

Simply Voting has real advantages, and some of them justify a higher price for the right buyer.

  • Security certifications. Its security and reliability page states that Simply Voting is SOC 2 Type 1 compliant, with data centers in Canada that meet SOC 2 Type 2 standards. Its company news describes annual audits with A-LIGN. Check the site for current status.
  • Telephone voting. Phone voting helps members who lack internet access. The company moved its phone voting to Twilio in January 2026, per the same news page.
  • Enterprise features. The online voting page lists single sign-on with your existing login system, up to 18 translations of the voting interface, and audits against Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 accessibility requirements.
  • Long track record. The homepage cites operation since 2003 and claims 6,000 customers worldwide.

Reviewers rate it well. As of October 2026, Capterra shows a 5.0 rating from 26 reviews, with praise for ease of use and responsive support. Read a few recent reviews yourself, since small review counts can shift quickly.

For a union, municipality, or credit union with a procurement checklist, SOC 2 and single sign-on can decide the purchase. Our guide to what makes a voting platform compliance-ready explains how to weigh those requirements.

Features that are premium on Simply Voting are included on every ElectionChamp election. Weighted voting works with any voting method using a whole-number weight per voter. Nomination questions, where members type in names, are a standard ballot option. SMS notices, printed voter keys for hybrid elections, and up to 5 reminders on paid elections come at no extra charge. Free elections get one reminder.

Simply Voting leads in other areas. We do not offer telephone voting, and we hold no SOC 2 or ISO certification. Our security rests on AES-256 encryption at rest, SSL/TLS in transit, single-use 16-character voter keys, anonymous ballots that admins cannot trace, and a full audit trail. Our ElectionChamp vs Simply Voting comparison covers the features side by side.

Who Should Choose Simply Voting, and When to Look at a Simply Voting Alternative

Simply Voting fits these buyers well:

  • Organizations whose procurement requires SOC 2, single sign-on, or WCAG audits.
  • Groups with members who need to vote by telephone.
  • Large associations, unions, and political parties that want a managed election with paper and phone channels.
  • Canadian organizations that want French and English voting on a platform hosted in Canada.

A Simply Voting alternative makes sense when you want to see the price before you start, run one or two elections a year, or need weighted voting and nominations without add-on fees. Community groups, clubs, parenting groups, and small HOAs usually fall here. Our online voting software comparisons put the main vendors side by side, and our 2026 online voting software pricing guide covers the wider market.

Whichever platform you choose, confirm with your bylaws and counsel that electronic voting is allowed for your election.
